    The Rights of Children in India
    The term ‘Child’ is not defined in the Indian Constitution. According to Article 1 of the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child 1989, ‘a child means every human being below the age of eighteen years unless, under the law applicable to the child, majority is attained earlier’.

    Juvenile Delinquency
    Juvenile Justice Act, 2000 – According to this Act "A Juvenile is the person who has not completed 18 years of age and hence Juvenile Delinquency refers to anti social or illegal behaviour by children.     The first central legislation on Juvenile Justice was passed in 1986, by the Union Parliament, providing a uniform law on juvenile justice for the entire country. Prior to this law each state had its own enactment on juvenile justice with there being differences in the way juveniles were treated by different state legal systems.
