How Many Days Would It Take to Get PCC in India?
The immigration is processed seamlessly if your all documents are in place. Police Clearance Certificate (PCC) is one of these certificates. Â
Why is police clearance certificate required?
This certificate is important for meeting these requirements:
- Residential Status
- Employment or Long Term Visa
- Immigration
- Tourist Visa
Documents required for PCC in India:
1. ECR Countries (United Arab Emirates, Yemen, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Sudan, Qatar, Afghanistan, Oman, Indonesia, Kuwait, Syria, Bahrain, Lebanon, Malaysia, Thailand, Libya, Iraq and Jordon):
- Old passport (original) with self-attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages including ECR page and page of observation (if any)
- Proof of Present Address
- Self-attested copy of Employment Contract (with foreign employer/ duly attested by the Indian Mission or Permission letter from the competent authority)
- Copy of valid visa together with English transcription if the visa is not in English
- Original Employment contract, demand letter and power of attorney from the foreign employer duly attested (if recruited by the Recruiting Agent)
- Copy of valid registration certificate issued by the Protectorate of Emigrants, Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs, Govt. of India.
2. Non-ECR Countries:
- Old passport (original) with self-attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages including Non-ECR page
- Proof of Present Address
- Documented proof of applying for Residential Status, Employment (Copy of Employment contract) or Long term visa or for immigration
3. Dependent Family Members:
- Old passport (original) with self-attested photocopy of its first two and last two pages including ECR/Non-ECR page of observation (if any).
- Proof of Present Address
- Sponsorship declaration by the sponsored who is sponsoring the emigration of the PCC applicant
What is the validity of PCC?
The validity of this certificate lasts for six months.
How do you get it in order to apply for Canada PR?
- Get registered to Passport Sewa Kendra (PSK) & log in.
- Select PCC link to fill the application. Upon submitting, save.
- Pay the requisite fee (INR 500, which may be revised).
- Schedule an appointment for the interview date and venue.
- Take out its hardcopy, once confirmed.
- Â Visit the PSK with original & two copies of passport, PAN card, printout of invitation to apply for the Canada PR & address proof
- A letter of PSK director, stating the reason of getting it
- Verify all documents at counter A, B and C.
The police verification is a last stage, wherein a cop or investigation officer will visit your home. The verification is mainly carried out to check if or not you are living there for one or more year. At that time, keep Aadhaar Card or resident proof of two more witnesses. They can be your friend, relatives or neighbours. Afterwards, the verification is completed.
How many days would it take to get this certificate?
The delivery of PCC depends on the verification. If it is all clear, the document will be processed within 2 or 3 weeks after your PSK visit for all documents’ verification. However, if you expedite the process, it can be delivered in emergency.
