The admissions in Government owned Law Colleges in the state is once again creating tussle

    Empowering Aspiring Advocates is necessary

The tussle between State Government of Rajasthan and Bar Council of India again put new admission in Government owned Law Colleges in the state on hold.

It’s past 93 days that spread the dampness over the legal education in the state. The State Government of Rajasthan and the Bar Council of India (BCI) is in collision with each other and hazel is borne by new aspiring students.

The tussle is all about the Accreditation of Government Law colleges in the state given by Bar Council of India for new admissions in Law

colleges for L.L.B. course. Directorate of college education also restricts the colleges for the admissions till the accreditation will receive. In many cities like Ajmer, Sikar, Nagore, Sirohi etc. The admissions are taken place in mid of December to mid of January in each session on receiving of temporary accreditation with BCI. This year also the government is not in the mood for the temporary accreditation as the specified BCI norms for law colleges cannot be fulfilled by State government.

There are 15 law colleges in the State and no one has permanent accreditation and students enrolled in this year are about 8000. Central government is launching new schemes to elevate the Professional education but none of the schemes is helping for these aspiring lawyers.

Under the norms of the UGC the colleges required Lecturers, Physical education staff, Playing ground, Hall, Moot Court and Specified Rooms for the students. But none of the colleges can fulfilled all these norms as these are basic amenities which are to be provided to students.

No one knows when this tussle will be end but it is sure that it affects the legal education in the state. By the time we only hope that this issue will resolve as early as possible as it is also affecting the quality of education in the colleges.
